I am way to busy to start to make ICnewQ 2.0. I was in the middle of making it when Mirabilis changed format, but then gave up after a week or 2 trying to get the POST method to work. I know this was a really big program to everyone, but its not my main focus right now.

Yes, I am afraid its true. For active users of the program, you have probably already found out that it doesn't work anymore. The deal is that Mirabilis changed the format of the WWP (World Wide Pager) to a different format, making current ICnewQ programs useless. The funny thing is, it happened the day after I announced ICnewQ 2.0...

How? Well, you used to be able to page someone with ICQ through a "Get" CGI method, and if you knew the format, straight through a URL. Now, it uses a "Post" method, which is much more complex. It posts the WWP information to a DLL file called WWPMsg.DLL, which then processes and sends the information. Another anti-ICnewQ idea was to include the IP address of the sender with EVERY message. What does this mean? If you remember the README files, (For those of you who actually read them!) ICnewQ was created to point out a security flaw in the WWP, not to screw up a great program. Its possible that Mirabilis just brushed it off, since it took quite a bit of time to send a message through a web browser. When I announced a more powerful version, they probably woke up and decided to boost the sucrity of their site. They succeeded! I doubt it will be soon before a workaround is made, if ever, and I really don't care. Mirabilis has made a great program, and the flaw in security is dead.

A note to former users of ICnewQ: This is one for the books, guys. I had never expected a program of mine to be so big, and used by so many people. Maybe someone can write a better "article" than I, maybe Jon from OTRICS, or BlackSol of WF. Thanks for your support, suggestions, comments and compliments. 

A personal note to Mirabilis: I'm glad you came to your senses, and I hope there isn't a grudge between us. Congratulations, and I hope your ICQ program takes your growing company places. Best of luck to you with the program.
